Obituary

Zion Jay Yachimowski, 3, of Nescopeck, passed away suddenly Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at his home. Born in Bloomsburg on September 1, 2022, he was a son to David R. Yachimowski and Kayla E. Makar.

Zion’s joys were finding bugs, watching spooky movies, and cuddle time with Sissy. He loved cooking, singing, and gardening with Mommy, and he loved reading books, playing with his action figures, and video games with Daddy.

Zion was kind, cheerful, adventurous, cute, a big helper, strong, protective, and caring. He loved being creative and had a big imagination.

Zion was always barefoot, muddy, and digging in the dirt. He loved watching Godzilla, Sonic, Mario, and funny animal videos. He enjoyed anything to do with trucks and tractors. Zion loved spending time with all of his family, he loved making friends, and playing at the park. Zion will always be loved and never forgotten.

In addition to his parents, Zion is survived by sister, Oakley Rebekah Miller; grandparents: Brian and Christa Yachimowksi of Nescopeck and Jason and Summer Makar of Wapwallopen; great-grandparents: Philip and Debra Makar of Bloomsburg, Dennis and Lois Hirleman of Orangeville, Gayle Krepich of Berwick, James Bobersky of Berwick, David and Roberta Albertson of Orangeville, and Raymond and Jane Yachimowski of Nescopeck; and aunts and uncles: Sarah (Whitney) Yachimowski of Bloomsburg, Eric (Sydney) Brown of Bloomsburg, Taylor (Jordan) Boone of Berwick, Madison Brown of Selingsgrove, and Lynn Ann (Mike) Balla of Berwick. Zion was preceded in death by grandmother, Rebekah Hirleman.

All are welcome to join Zion’s family for his Funeral 11 AM Friday, June 5, 2026 at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market Street, Bloomsburg. Pastor Joshua Yorks of Mifflinville United Methodist Church will officiate. Friends will be received from 5-7 PM Thursday, June 4 and from 10 AM until the time of the service at 11 AM Friday, June 5. Interment at Elan Memorial Park, Bloomsburg, will follow the Funeral. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc. is honored to serve Zion’s family.
