Obituary

William G. "Bill" DiDomenico, age 73, passed away peacefully at his home after a brief battle with cancer.

He was born January 17, 1951 in Devon, PA to the late Eleanor Jean Dempsey and William Louis DiDomenico. The oldest of six children, he was preceded in death by a sister, Janet and a sister in infancy, Donna. He will be greatly missed by his siblings; Tony (Lynn) DiDomenico, Lucia (Glenn) Holt, Paul (Dana) DiDomenico.

Bill served his country in the United States Navy Nuclear Power Program for nine years (November 1969 thru August 1978). He served on the Submarine Tender, U.S.S. Fulton AS-11, the Nuclear Submarine U.S.S. Whale SSN-638, and instructed at GE's D1G prototype in Ballston Spa, NY. After his service in the Navy, Bill relocated to Bloomsburg working at Susquehanna Steam and Electric Plant until his retirement.

Surviving is his wife, Jean DiDomenico, whom he married on August 11, 1973. His death separates a 50-year union. Also surviving are his twin sons; William J. (Stephanie) DiDomenico and Gabriel DiDomenico and partner Caity Pittenger.

Bill's greatest joy was his two grandchildren, Sam and Jack. He would often be found on the sidelines of their sports games taking photos. An avid bird watcher, Bill has had many photos published in the Press Enterprise and on WNEP-16. He will be greatly missed by all his golf friends and neighbors. He was a devout Catholic and volunteered many hours at the Bloomsburg Food Cupboard.

A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2024 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at the St. Columba Catholic Church, 342 Iron St, Bloomsburg.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2024 at 10:00 am at St. Columba Catholic Church with Rev. Richard J. Mowery, Celebrant. Private Burial will be at New Rosemont Cemetery, Bloomsburg. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the DiDomenico family.
