Wilfred Martin, age 91, of Catawissa, passed away on Monday, June 19, 2023, a patient of the Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital. Wilfred was a resident of his home in Catawissa for over 15 years.

Wilfred was born on Thursday, November 19, 1931 in Philadelphia, a son of the late Kurt and Katherine (Brandes) Martin. He graduated from the Mastbaum Technical High School. He married his loving wife, Lucille V. (Valier) Martin who preceded him in death on January 29, 2008. For over 30 years, Wilfred was employed by PGW Philadelphia Gas Works as an Appliance Repair Technician until his retirement in 1989. Wilfred was a member of the Roaring Creek Valley Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Vereinigung Erzgebirge German Club in Warminster, PA. He loved being outdoors, gardening and fishing. His greatest achievement was his family and love for his granddaughter.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Harold Martin.

Survivors include his two children: LuAnn M. Corr and husband Stephen of Doylestown, Kurt Martin of Catawissa, granddaughter: Rachel Corr Werner and husband Scott of Doylestown, and a sister-in-law: June Martin of Southampton, PA.

A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2023 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church, 706 Central Road, Bloomsburg.

Funeral Services will begin on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at 11:00 am at Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church with Rev. John Kolenda, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in Northumberland Memorial Park, Sunbury. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Martin family.
