Wanda (Dawson) Brobst, age 71, of Mainville Road, Bloomsburg, died on Sunday morning, May 9, 2010 as a resident of Columbia Montour Hospice at Maria Hall. Wanda had been failing in health for the past several years. Wanda was born on Tuesday, July 12, 1938 in Bloomsburg, the only child of the late Fred C. and Edith Leona (Wall) Dawson. She was a graduate of the 1957 Class of Bloomsburg High School. For over 23 years, she was a Registration and Information Clerk for Geisinger Medical Center until her retirement in 1998. She was a life-long member of the St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Bloomsburg. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edwin S. Brobst on January 12, 2010. They were married on June 15, 1957. Survivors include her two daughters: Lori Rayfield and her husband, Alan, of Dryden, Washington and Darla Jannetty and her husband, Vincent, of Pittsburgh: a son: Michael Brobst and his wife, Diane, of Franklin, Virginia; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Wanda was also preceded in death by her infant daughter, Jodi Ann Brobst in December of 1958. A Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, May 16 from 6 to 8 p.m. from the Allen Funeral Home at 745 Market Street in Bloomsburg. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, May 17 at 11 a.m. from the St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 123 North Market Street in Bloomsburg with her pastor, Rev. Joel L. Zeiders officiating. A private graveside will be held in Elan Memorial Park.
