Walter C. Gottstein, age 82, of Bloomsburg, passed away on Sunday morning, March 3, 2024, at his Main Township home under the care of Geisinger Hospice and surrounded by his loving family. Walter was a resident of his home in Main Twp. for over 58 years.
He was born on Tuesday, August 19, 1941 in Bloomsburg, a son of the late Raymond and Goldie (George) Gottstein. Walter attended the Bloomsburg area schools. On May 26, 1962, Walter married his loving wife, the former Sharon L. Lundy of Mainville. For over 40 years, Walter was employed by Breisch's Dairy as a deliveryman until his retirement on October 1, 2004. Walter was a member of the Emanuel Lutheran Church, Mainville. He enjoyed spending his time visiting the casinos with his wife and son, playing cards, playing with his great-grandchildren, and going on cruises with his wife.
In addition to his parents, Walter was also preceded in death by a brother, Leonard Gottstein, three sisters, Marie Hartley, Juliet Kaszmetski, and Josephine Keyser.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 61 years, Sharon L. Gottstein, three children; Saundra D. Robbins and her husband Tammy "Boz" of Bloomsburg, Crystal A. Magill of Mechanicsburg, Kevin S. Gottstein and his wife Sandra of Bloomsburg, five grandchildren; Brandon Gottstein and his girlfriend Lindsey Ward of Trinity, FL, Andrew Gottstein and his fiancée Erica Hogue of Bloomsburg, Eric Robbins and his wife Jenna of Chambersburg, Nicholas Magill and his wife Linsey of Manchester, Shelby Gribble and her husband John of Boiling Springs, four great-grandchildren, Carter Robbins, Easton Gottstein, Kason Gottstein, and Piper Gribble.
The family will have a private Celebration of Life later in the spring. The family would like to thank the wonderful nurses and staff at Geisinger Hospice for their support during this difficult time.
