Walter C. "Bucky" DeWitt, Jr., age 68, a resident of Yost Hollow Road, Berwick died Sunday, June 3, 2012 at Columbia Montour Home Hospice at Maria Hall, Danville. Bucky was a lifelong resident of Columbia County. He was born on Tuesday, October 19, 1943 in Biloxi, MS a son of Walter C. Sr. and Lucille Kullivan DeWitt.
Bucky was a member of the Benton High School Class of 1961. During his early working career he was employed at Magee Carpet Co. His later working career was being owner and operator of DeWitt Masonry as a brick and stone mason.
Survivors include a son: Brian C. DeWitt and wife, Patricia, of Baltimore; two granddaughters: Anna Marie and Kelsey; three sisters: Cindy Hower and husband, Kenneth, of Berwick, Joan Houseweart and husband, William, of Delray Beach FL and Linda Kishbaugh and husband, Keith, of Tucson AZ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by two brothers: Gerald and Paul.
A visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday, June 7 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Allen Funeral Home, 745 Market St., Bloomsburg with Rev. Thomas J. Fetterolf, officiating.
Funeral services will begin on Thursday, June 7 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with graveside services to follow in Zion Cemetery, Fishing Creek Twp. The Immediate family will provide flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to: Columbia Montour Hospice at Maria Hall, 410 Glenn Ave., Suite 200, Bloomsburg.
