W. Paul Creasy, age 90, of W. 12th Street, Bloomsburg, died on Saturday, August 11, 2012 a patient of Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Paul was born on Sunday, November 20, 1921 in Almedia, a son of the late Ernest and Mildred (Eshelman) Creasy. Throughout his earlier life, he attended and later graduated from the former Scott High School. Following his education, he served with the United States Army as a Sergeant in the Panama Canal during World War II. During his working career, he was employed by the Magee Carpet Company as a Supervisor for 27 years. His last portion of his working career he was employed in the Maintenance Department of Geisinger Medical Center as a painter.
Paul enjoyed hunting. He was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles. He served as an official with Little League and Softball. He was also a soccer player. During his retirement years he enjoyed traveling with his wife. MaryAnn.
He was a member of the Ridge Street United Methodist Church, Almedia and also Washington Lodge #265 F&AM, Caldwell Consistory, Bloomsburg Elks Lodge #436, Valley of Bloomsburg American Legion Post#273 and Ft. McClure Post 804 VFW.
Preceding him in death was his wife: MaryAnn Dacey Creasy on November 7, 2007 and five siblings: George Creasy, Bruce Creasy, Irvin Creasy, Glenn Creasy and Hazel Hartzell.
Survivors include a daughter: Paula Liken and husband, John, of Harrisburg; two sons: Richard Creasy and Ernest W. Creasy and wife, Patricia, both of Bloomsburg; four granddaughters: Stephanie Mengel of Boyertown, Suzanne Wilson of Scranton, Tiffanie Pringle of Bloomsburg and Heather Hyatt of Bloomsburg and five great grandchildren; Paul was the last member of his immediate family.
A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday from 10 to 11 am at the Ridge Street United Methodist Church, Almedia.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 14 at 11 a.m. from the Ridge Street United Methodist Church with his pastor, Rev. Robert J. Eddinger, officiating. Graveside services will immediately follow the funeral services.
