Vivianne D. (Chevrette) Swisher, age 82, of Bloomsburg, passed away on Wednesday morning, June 1, 2022, a resident of the Brookdale Assisted Living of Bloomsburg since December.
Vivianne was born on Thursday, May 23, 1940 in Central Falls, Rhode Island, a daughter of the late Leo and Dorianne (Lussier) Chevrette. Throughout her younger years, Vivianne attended and later graduated from the Notre Dame High School in 1958. On September 3, 1960, Vivianne married her loving husband, Arthur H. Swisher, Jr. of Bloomsburg making it their home and starting their family. For over 40 years, Vivianne was employed by Bloomsburg Mills as an Payroll Clerk until her retirement. After her retirement, Vivianne volunteered her time with the Bloomsburg Hospital Auxiliary assisting those who needed an extra hand. The Swisher family will remember the times while she and her husband cheered on the Philadelphia Phillies together.
In addition to her parents, Vivianne was also preceded by her sister, Claire LaBarre.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 62 years, Arthur H. Swisher, Jr. of Bloomsburg; her son, Kevin M. Swisher and wife, Linda of Bloomsburg; her daughter, Tammy S. Tarlecky and companion, Bill Huntington, of Catawissa; grandson, Justin M. Swisher and wife, Victoria, of Bloomsburg; granddaughter, Karen L. Tarlecky of San Jose, CA; granddaughter, Marie L. Tarlecky of Tampa, FL; granddaughter, Kirstie A. Marotto and husband, Nick, of Bloomsburg; grandson, Tony J. Tarlecky and fiance', Mackenzie Silver, of Berwick; two great-granddaughters: Natalie M. Marotto of Bloomsburg and Harper R. Tarlecky of Berwick; a sister, Sue Shaw and husband, Albert, of Estero, FL; brother, Donald Chevrette and wife, Denise of Seekonk, MA; brother, Emile Chevrette and wife, Maureen, of Naples, FL; brother, Norman Chevrette of Southington, CT; sister, Dean Prout of Cumberland, RI; and a brother, Robert Chevrette of Southington, CT.
A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday morning, June 9th from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Shiloh Bible Church, 123 Church Street (Almedia) in Bloomsburg.
Funeral Services will also begin on Thursday morning, June 9th at 11:00 a.m. at the Shiloh Bible Church, Almedia with Rev. Dr. Douglas H. Lyon, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in the Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market Street, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Swisher family.
