Obituary

Virginia D. "Ginny" Moser, age 69, of Lightstreet, entered into the arms of our Lord on Friday, June 23, 2023 unexpectedly, after only being a patient at Geisinger Medical Center for less than a day. She had been a resident of her home in Lightstreet for 38 years.

Virginia was born on Saturday, December 5, 1953 in Bloomsburg, just a few minutes past her father's birthday. She is the daughter of Kathaleen D. (Barnish) Monroe and the late Arthur Grant Monroe. She was a part of the graduating class of 1971 at Northwest Area School District.

Virginia married the love of her life, Louis W. Moser. on September 21, 1974, with whom she would have celebrated 49 years of marriage on September 21. She was a stay-at-home mom while her two children were small, but once the youngest went to school, she started working at Geisinger. She eventually started working for Geisinger Health Plan doing enrollments, and shortly before her retirement, worked in the mailroom until her retirement in 2016.

She enjoyed everything and anything to do with grandkids. She always said that grandchildren were the best part of having kids. She loved crocheting and was known for the baby blankets that she made for everyone who was having a baby. She even attempted to teach her youngest granddaughter to crochet. She loved spending time with her boxer, Gabby Jean, having family get togethers, family vacations to Cape Cod, shopping, buying shoes and clothes, and camping.

Virginia was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Berwick. She enjoyed talking about the rough times and that somehow, we all got through it and came out stronger, when it occurred. She adored her two granddaughters very much. Whenever the grandkids were around, she was nothing but smiles. She made tons of doilies for tables and end tables to have on display.

In addition to her father, and her grandparents, Virginia was also preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Grace E. Bardo, as well as several uncles and aunts.

Survivors include her beloved husband, Louis W. Moser of Bloomsburg, her mother, Kathaleen D. Monroe of Bloomsburg, a son, Louis A. Moser and fiancée, Angie Spaide of Bloomsburg, a daughter, Stephanie K. Shaffer and husband Darren L. of Bloomsburg, two granddaughters, Emma Elizabeth Shaffer of Bloomsburg, Kaylee Ann Shaffer of Bloomsburg, a brother, Grant Monroe and wife Ruby of Spring, TX, her step father in law, Donald Bardo of Berwick, two brothers in law, that were more like brothers; Gilbert Fausnaught and fiancée, Beverly Brown of Berwick, Fred Fausnaught, Sr. and wife Bonnie of Berwick, a sister in law, Gloria E.
