Virgil E. Buck, age 74, a resident of Columbia Village, Millville, died Saturdayevening, February 12, 2011. Virgil was stricken ill a week ago and was admitted to the Millville Health Center on Friday. Born January 12, 1937 in Orlando, FL, he was the son of the late Clifton and Susie Kinney Buck. He attended the Millville Schools.
Virgil was self-employed and operated the family business of Buck Well Drilling until his retirement. He was a member of Ft. McClure VFW Post 804, Bloomsburg and a former member of the Valley of Bloomsburg American Legion, Post 273.
Survivors include five children: Annette Kinney and husband, Keith, of Millville; Clifton E. Buck and wife, Judy, of Millville; Alan E. Buck and wife, Diane, of Jerseytown; Kevin C. Buck and wife, Karen, of Hagerstown, MD and James C. "Jamie" Buck and wife, Laurie, of Hamilton, NJ; 14 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and a sister: Vanice Purvis of Phoenix, AZ.
Virgil was preceded in death by a son: Keith V. Buck in 1986.
Graveside services will be held at in the spring time. He will be buried in the family plot in Millville Cemetery. Memorial Contributions are suggested to Columbia Montour Hospice, 410 Glenn Ave., Suite 200, Bloomsburg.
