Trudy M. Ashelman, age 72, of Orangeville, passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, a patient of UPMC, Williamsport. Trudy was a resident of her home in Greenwood Township for over 42 years.

She was born on Monday, July 10, 1950 in Bloomsburg, a daughter of the late Carl and Eva (Hartzell) McWilliams. Trudy graduated from Central Columbia High School in 1968. On September 22, 1979, Trudy married her loving husband, Harry E. Ashelman. She was a devoted wife for over 42 years and a beloved mother and grandmother. For over 41 years, Trudy was employed by Bloomsburg Middle School as a Library Aide until her retirement in 2015. She was a faithful member of Canby Lutheran Church, Bloomsburg where she served as secretary and treasurer for many years, she was also a member of the Pennsylvania State Education Association. Trudy enjoyed spending her time making knot comforters, crocheting prayer shawls and doing crossword puzzles. She loved her flower garden and watching the birds around her home. She was very active helping her husband with the farm and bookkeeping.

In addition to her parents, Trudy was also preceded in death by two brothers, Robert McWilliams, and Richard H. McWilliams.

Survivors include her beloved husband of 42 years, Harry E. Ashelman of Orangeville, a daughter, Erin E. Leach of Orangeville, a grandson, Daniel L. Leach, a brother, George C. McWilliams and wife Susan Knowles of Bloomsburg, a sister-in-law, Geraldine McWilliams of Bloomsburg, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2022 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Canby Lutheran Church, 529 Millertown Road, Bloomsburg.

Funeral services will begin on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at 11:00 am at the Canby Lutheran Church with Pastor Stanley L. Bower, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in the Canby Lutheran Cemetery, Bloomsburg. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Street is honored to be serving the Ashelman family.
