Thomas P. Tomaschik age 54 of Bloomsburg died Wednesday evening, November 18, 2015 in Briar Creek Township. Tom was born on Wednesday, March 4, 1961 a son of Bernadette (Jerome) Petro of Catawissa and Donald Tomaschik of Elysburg.
Tom completed his education upon graduation from Southern Area High School in 1979. He was a proud member of the working class, being a laborer his entire working career. He was also a member of St. Columba Catholic Parish. Thomas was Gift of Life donor.
Survivors include his forever friend: Mary Wegrzynowicz, his mother: Bernadette Petro and husband, Bernard, of Catawissa; father: Donald Tomaschik and wife, Elaine, of Elysburg, three siblings: Don Tomaschik and wife, Debra, of Catawissa, Colette Huxta and husband, Leonard, of Shamokin and Jerry Tomaschik and wife, Cyndy of Pampa TX; step children: Misty Gensel and husband, Jay, and Bradley Wegrzynowicz; grandchildren: Garrett and Mia; nieces: Mallory, Ashley, Lindsey and Brittany; nephews: Tim and Tyler and beloved companion Chloe.
The Rosary will be recited Monday morning, Nov. 23 beginning at 9:30 a.m. at St. Columba Catholic Church, Third and Iron Streets, Bloomsburg. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held at the St. Columba Catholic Church beginning at 10 a.m. until the time of service.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday morning, Nov. 23 at 11 a.m. at the St. Columba Catholic Church, Third and Irion Streets with Msgr. Robert E. Lawrence as celebrant. Graveside committal services will be held in All Saints Cemetery, Elysburg.
