Obituary

Thomas C. "Tom" Miller, 71, of Boalsburg, passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at CentreCare Rehabilitation Center, Bellefonte.

A true example of a "gentle" man, Tom was a man of immense wisdom and wit with a kind smile and encouraging word always available to all.

Born April 21, 1954 in Bloomsburg, Tom is the son of the late J. Blaine Miller and Ruth Reichard Girton (Ben). A graduate of Bloomsburg High School, Class of 1972, Tom continued his education, receiving a BS degree in Elementary Education and Psychology in 1977 from Bloomsburg State University and a master's degree in public administration and criminology in 1982 from The Pennsylvania State University. On September 1, 1978, Tom married his loving wife, the former Rhonda Ruckle.

His 37-year career path started as Zoning/Animal Enforcement Officer, followed by becoming the Harris Township (Boalsburg) Manager for 15 years, moving on in 2003 to the Middle District of PA United States District Court in Williamsport, serving as their Deputy in Charge, until finishing his career at McQuaide Blasko Law Firm as their Chief Operating Officer, retiring in 2019. For 13 years he also fit in working part time as a Certified Appraisal Agent for the Auto Appraisal Group of Charlottesville, VA. After retirement, he got pleasure and enjoyment in working part time in his world of passion, cars, with both Blaise Alexander Hyundai/Mazda and Bobby Rahal Honda, both of State College. When not working he got immense joy restoring old motorcycles, one of which is on display at the AACA Museum in Hershey.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his stepsister, Sandra Girton; in-laws, David and Doris Ruckle; as well as his uncle, John Reichard.

Tom is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Rhonda; a brother-in-law, David Ruckle and his wife, Vanessa, of Bloomsburg, two nieces: Lindsay Hanna and husband, Will, of Danville and Lauren Traugh and husband, Brent, of Bloomsburg; great-niece and nephews: Izabella and Jak Hanna, and Logan and Ryan Traugh; along with several cherished cousins and many amazing friends.

The family extends their gratitude to the extraordinary and caring staff at the Mount Nittany Cancer Care Center, especially Dr. Aderonke Ajala and to Dr. Dennis Shannon and Xenia at CentreCare Rehabilitation for their kind and comforting treatment provided to Tom.
