Thomas E. "Tom" McGovern, age 68, of Bloomsburg, passed to his heavenly home on Friday morning, August 5, 2022, at the Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital. Tom was a resident of Bloomsburg all his life.

He was born on Monday, June 21, 1954, a son of the late John E. and Marie C. (Meehan) McGovern. Tom was a member of St. Columba Catholic Church, Bloomsburg. He loved being with family, holidays, birthdays and visits home. He enjoyed sports of all types, car rides, walks, movies and dining out. Tom will be most remembered by his beautiful smile and love he expressed to everyone. His genuine warmth was felt by anyone who met him. Tom brought such love, joy and happiness to each of us. Our hearts ache and he will be dearly missed. "Until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand".

In addition to his parents, Tom was also preceded in death by a brother, John E. "Jack" McGovern, Jr.

Survivors include his sisters, Ann Marie Bowman of Bloomsburg, Elizabeth "Betsy" Simons of West Chester, Dolores "Dee" McGovern of Bloomsburg, nephews and nieces, Timothy Simons, Denise McCormick and husband Louis, Kevin Simons, John McGovern, III, Katherine McGovern, two great-nieces, Cassie and Shea McCormick, a sister-in-law, Lorraine McGovern, as well as numerous cousins.

A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2022, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at St. Columba Catholic Church, 342 Iron St., Bloomsburg.

A Mass of Christian Burial will begin on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at 11:00 am at St. Columba Catholic Church with Rev. Richard J. Mowery, Celebrant. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in New Rosemont Cemetery, Bloomsburg. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the McGovern family.
