Thomas Edward Shaffer II, age 72, of Bloomsburg, passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2019, a patient of the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. He was better known as Eddie and was a resident of Bloomsburg all of his life.
He was born on Monday, February 10, 1947 in Bloomsburg, a son of the late Thomas E. and Elmira (Bankes) Shaffer. Eddie graduated from the Scranton Oral School For The Deaf in 1965. In 1972, Eddie married his loving wife, the former Jean Morgalis, who preceded him in death on April 21, 2006. He enjoyed spending his time with his family, especially attending his sons' sporting events.
Survivors include his two sons, Anthony B. Shaffer of Sweet Valley and Robert B. Shaffer of Bloomsburg, a granddaughter, Mya Jean Shaffer, a grandson, Garrett Anthony Hudson Shaffer, four step grandchildren, a sister, Sherryl wife of Edward Cope of Bloomsburg, along with 1 nephew and 3 nieces.
A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, October 18, 2019 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Streets, Bloomsburg.
Funeral Services will begin on Friday, October 18, 2019 at 10:00 am at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. with Pastor Chuck Chamberlain, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in the New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Shaffer family.
