Thomas L. Gearhart, age 61, of Bloomsburg, died on Tuesday, May 25, 2021, at his home in Bloomsburg. He was a resident of his home in Bloomsburg for over 25 years.

Thomas was born on Thursday, September 10, 1959 in Berwick, a son of the late Howard and Alverta Gearhart. He graduated from the Columbia Montour Vo-Tech School in 1977 and expanded his education by attending Penn State College, and graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Biology. Thomas honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy.

On August 26, 1995, Thomas married his loving wife, the former Patricia A. Phillips. For over 25 years, Thomas was employed by J. M. Smuckers as an extruder. He enjoyed spending his time watching college football and walking his dog, Dante "Fur Baby".

In addition to his parents, Thomas was also preceded by brothers, Robert Zekanis and William Gearhart.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 25 years, Patricia A. Gearhart, a sister, Danette Walter and husband, Leroy, of Bloomsburg, two step-daughters, that he loved as his own: Danielle A. Ruckle and husband, Jamie A. Ruckle, Sr. of Stillwater and Nadeen L. Burns and husband, Aaron, of Nashville, TN; a grandson, Jamie A. Ruckle, Jr.; sisters-in-law: Sandy Bielecki and husband, Chuck, of Bloomsburg, Trudy Bognar and husband, Chuck, of Nescopeck; niece, Jennifer Lorenz, nephew, Adam Walter, nephew, Andy Walter, niece, Kristy Bodman, niece, Brittney Valencik, niece, Deserae Salzman, niece, Shawna Gotshall, niece, Kasey Reitmeyer, niece, Sarah Gearhart.

A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, May 28, 2021 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 745 Market St., Bloomsburg.

Private funeral services will be held with personal friend, Rev. Susan Rogutski, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in the Mifflinville Cemetery with military honors provided by the combined V.F.W. and American Legion groups. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Gearhart family.
