Obituary

Thomas B. Bojako, age 83, of Lightstreet Road, Bloomsburg, died on Sunday, October 3, 2010 at his home surrounded by his children. Thomas had been failing in health for the past two years. He was a resident of his home in Bloomsburg for the past 20 years and formerly of Wildwood, New Jersey for ten years and also Coatsville, Pennsylvania for over 20 years.
Thomas was born on Thursday, September 15, 1927, in Mt. Carmel, a son of the late, Thomas J. and Anna Mashalick Bojako. He was a member of the 1945 Graduation Class of Marion Heights High School. Thomas was a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force serving with the 251 L Weather Squadron after World War II as a Weather Observer.
Throughout most of his working career, Thomas was a machinist by trade and was most currently employed by Layton Greenfield in Wagontown, Pennsylvania. He was a member of the St. Columba Catholic Parish in Bloomsburg.
Thomas was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dolores Sawicki Bojako on March 24, 2009 and two sisters: Nellie Corso and Dorothy Miller.
Survivors include three children: Christina Cooper, and her husband, Larry, of St. Petersburg, Florida; Thomas J. Bojako and his wife, Brenda, of Reading and Debbie Ann McHugh and her husband, Bernard, of Bloomsburg; six grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren and a sister Anna Notestine and her husband, John, of Kulpmont.
A Mass will begin on Thursday, October 7 at 11:00 am in St. Columba Catholic Church, Third and Iron Street in Bloomsburg with Rev. Paul R. Fisher, as celebrant. Graveside services will be held in New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy. Services are under the direction of the Allen Funeral Home, 745 Market at Eighth Street in Bloomsburg.
Family will provide flowers.
