Theresa Louise Murphy, age 78, of Rockaway Beach, NY and Bloomsburg, passed on Friday, April 5, 2024, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Theresa was born on Thursday, March 21, 1946 in Hammond, IN, a daughter of the late Eugene Maquire and Rita (Monaghan) English. She attended the Hammond Central High School in Hammond, IN. In 1963, Theresa married her life partner, Robert M. "Bob" Murphy Sr. who preceded her in death in 2014. For over 10 years, Theresa was employed by Mervyn's Retail Store, Tempe, AZ as an Office Manager until her retirement in 2010. She was a member of the St. Camillus Catholic Church, Rockaway Beach, NY. She enjoyed spending her time with horses and reading, especially Danielle Steele books.

In addition to her parents and husband, Theresa was also preceded in death by her two sons: John C. and Steven J. Murphy.

Survivors include her three beloved children: Catherine M. Amonte and husband Frank of Bloomsburg, Robert M. Murphy, Jr. of Rockaway Beach, NY, Brian Murphy of Brooklyn, NY; five grandchildren: Tabitha, Frankie, Alyssa, Delilah, Ethan; six great-grandchildren: Kyla, Savannah, Hope, Jordan, Kendyll, Camryn, three siblings: Ed Maguire and wife Terrie of Folsom, PA, Harry E. English and companion, Susan Webster of Bloomsburg, and Margaret C. Edwards and husband Don of Benton.

A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg. A Catholic Wake Service will be held at 5:30 P.M. with Rev. Richard J. Mowery, Celebrant, St. Columba Catholic Church, Bloomsburg.

Graveside committal services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at St. Charles Resurrection Cemetery, 2015 Wellwood Avenue, Farmingdale, NY. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Murphy family.
