Terry Lee Sheaffer, a retired machinist with 28 years of service at New Holland and a longtime resident of Lewistown, peacefully passed away at his son's home in Bloomsburg on July 19, 2024, at 7:00 PM, surrounded by loved ones.
Terry was born on February 4, 1948 to the late Guy Nelson Sheaffer and Olevia Jane (Greer) Sheaffer of Lewistown. He graduated from Lewistown-Granville High School; Class of 1967. Terry married his high school sweetheart, Carla Mae (Tipton) Sheaffer, on June 10, 1967. He was 76 years old at the time of his passing.
In addition to his parents, Terry was also preceded in death by a grandson, Owen Robert Sheaffer, and a great-grandson, Lliam Michael Miller.
Terry recently celebrated his 57th wedding anniversary and is survived by his wife Carla Sheaffer, sons Carl, Lee, and Travis Sheaffer, and their spouses Michele (Rumsey), Roxann (Johnson), and Jennifer (Swenson) Sheaffer, siblings Barry and Tina Sheaffer, as well as numerous grandchildren and great- grandchildren whom he cherished deeply.
Known for his dedication as a husband, father, and grandfather, Terry enjoyed fishing, hunting, and the outdoors. He had a patriotic spirit and cherished time spent with family and friends. Renowned for his ability to fix anything, he was affectionately known to his family as "Pappy, the man who had everything and could mend anything."
Terry leaves behind a legacy of love and will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
A private Celebration of Life Ceremony will be scheduled for a later date, to be attended by family and close friends. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Sheaffer family.
