Teresa V. Freyland , age 92, of Orangeville, died on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, surrounded by her family and under the care of Geisinger Home Hospice. Teresa was a resident of her home in Orangeville for over 35 years.
Teresa was born on Saturday, August 22, 1925 in Ridgewood, New York, a daughter of the late Martin and Elizabeth (Scheiner) Kehl. Teresa graduated from the Grover Cleveland High School of Ridgewood, NY. Teresa expanded her education by attending Nassau County Community College.
On November 25, 1948, Teresa married her loving husband, Harold G. Freyland who died December 12, 1999. For many years, Teresa was employed by Hanover Trust and Bank as a Clerk until her retirement in 1981. She was a member of the St. Columba Catholic Parish.
In addition to her husband and parents, Teresa was also preceded by sister, Veronica Kaye.
Survivors include her four children: Patrice O'Connor of Gainesville, FL, Brian M. Freyland and wife, Laurie. of Canandaigua, NY, Janice Maertz and husband, Jerry, of Bloomsburg, and Gregg R. Freyland and wife, Melody of Orangeville, 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, March 8, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth St., Bloomsburg. A Christian Wake Service will be held at 6 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin on Friday, March 9, 2018 at 10:00 am at St. Columba Catholic Church, Third and Iron Sts., Bloomsburg, with Monsignor Robert E. Lawrence, celebrant. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in the New Rosemont Cemetery. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Freyland family.
