Susan K. Yodock, age 76, of Lewisburg, and formerly of Catawissa, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 15, 2023 at the Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village, Lewisburg.

The daughter of the late Robert F., Sr. and Dorothy (Spaid) Sitler, she was born on June 3, 1947 in Dundalk, Maryland. The family moved to Bloomsburg, and Sue graduated from Central Columbia High School in 1965. She earned her bachelor's degree in education from Bloomsburg State College in 1969, and began teaching at Columbia Montour Vo-Tech. She spent much of her career as a mathematics teacher at Southern Columbia Jr./Sr. High School and held the positions of Yearbook Advisor, Band Booster President, and Middle School Student Council Advisor throughout her tenure. She retired from Southern in 2009 but continued to share her knowledge as a math tutor.

Sue was a Girl Scout Leader, and a 1981 Pennsylvania State champion as a member of the Columbia Aircraft Bowling Team. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed traveling with them, especially to historic spots. She was an avid reader and crossword puzzler extraordinaire. And because of her love of history and reading, she could recount the most obscure historical facts, which always made her an excellent trivia partner. She also had quite the knack for organizing the family Christmas gift exchanges each year.

Sue was an amazing mom, grandmother, and sister, and she will be missed by her daughter; Nicole, her son-in-law, Warren, and grandson, Will Merkel, of Littlestown, her four siblings; Sally Sitler, Mia Kiefer, Bob Sitler all of Bloomsburg, Terry Sitler and his wife Maureen of Topton, as well as nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Yodock and Merkel families.
