Susan J. Ash , age 73, of Lightstreet, died on Sunday, December 2, 2018, a patient of the Geisinger Medical Center. Susan was a resident of her home in Lightstreet for over 14 years. Prior, Susan was a resident of Mt. Pleasant Twp. for 40 years.

She was born on Sunday, July 22, 1945 in Scott Township, a daughter of the late Eugene and Josephine (Moyer) Keifer. Throughout her younger years, Susan attended area schools, and later graduated from the Central Columbia High School in 1963. She expanded her education by attending the former Bloomsburg State Teachers College.

On May 30, 1969, Susan married her loving husband, Phillip J. Ash formerly of Mt. Pleasant Township. Susan was a housewife, homemaker and farmer. She was a lover of her pets and she enjoyed spending her time hunting, fishing, and camping.

In addition to her parents, Susan was also preceded by two siblings: Robert Keifer and Joanne Keifer.

Survivors include her beloved husband of 49 years, Phillip J. Ash; brother and sisters in law:, Margaret Kassab of Apex, NC, Bruce and Connie Ash of Lutz, FL and a brother, William Keifer of Watsontown. Susan's numerous nieces and nephews were her children to her.

A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2018 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth St., Bloomsburg.

Funeral Services will begin on Saturday, at 10:00 am with, Rev. James Ritter, pastor of Watsontown Baptist Church, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in the New Rosemont Cemetery, Bloomsburg. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Ash family.
