Steve Hrinda, Jr., age 82, of Fowlersville Road, Lightstreet, died on Sunday, January 6, 2013 at his home under the care of Geisinger Hospice.
Steve was born on Saturday, February 22, 1930 in Jessup, a son of the late Steve and Eva (Gula) Hrinda. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served his country faithfully about the U.S.S. Coral Sea during the Korean Conflict. In 1995, Steve retired from Wise foods after being employed for over 35 years. He was a member of the Caldwell Consistory, the Orangeville Oriental Lodge #460 F&AM, and also served as former President of the Berwick Golf Club. Steve was also known for his skill and business of fixing and making custom golf clubs.
In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by two sisters: Anna Hampton and Helen Uram; and a brother: John Hrinda.
Survivors include his beloved wife of over 60 years, Ruth J. Warburton; three sons: Dennis Hrinda and wife, Nancy, of Bloomsburg; James Hrinda and wife, Angela, of Benton; and Scott Hrinda and wife, Carla, of Bloomsburg; six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 11 at 11 a.m. from the Faith Bible Church, 1810B State Route 487, Orangeville with Pastor Michael Shingler, officiating. Friends will be received on Friday at the Faith Bible Church from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Steve will be laid to rest in the Lightstreet Highland Cemetery.
