Spencer L. Horning, 20, of South Williamsport, returned home to his precious Lord and Savior on Wednesday afternoon, November 27, 2013 a patient at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center.
Spencer was born on Thursday, December 3, 1992 in Lebanon, New Hampshire, the beloved son of Steven L. Horning of South Williamsport and Nancy L. Speicher of Bloomsburg. On a proud day in Spencer's life in May of 2011, he completed and graduated from South Williamsport Area School District. Throughout his younger years, Spencer attended Faith Wesleyan Church in Williamsport and currently attended Journeymate Ministry in Lightstreet. Although Spencer was born into this world with unique skills in life, he was always able to see the beauty of God's creation through a different light. He will always be remembered as a "Joker", and loved nothing more than to play "tricks" on his friends and family. With love and laughter, Spencer would always find the center of attention in the room. Spencer shared many enjoyments in life. He loved music, movies, printing, computer and internet, but his greatest love was for Jesus. He will be deeply missed by all his family and friends that knew him.
Spencer was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Bruce and Patricia Wadsworth, and also by a paternal grandfather, Terry Horning.
Survivors include his mother, Nancy L. Speicher and husband, John, of Bloomsburg; his father: Steven L. Horning and wife, Laurie, of South Williamsport; a paternal grandmother: Marijean Ginoble and husband, Albert, of South Williamsport; a brother: Mason Horning and wife, Kayla, also of South Williamsport; two half-brothers: Carter and Dominic Horning of Loyalsock; two step-sisters: Melissa Robbins of Linden and Michelle Speicher of Mechanicsburg; and also a step-brother: Matthew Speicher and wife, Kandy, of Mechanicsburg. He is also survived by his ever faithful and loving caregivers, Yolanda, Belton, Alva, Phillip, Russ and many others over the years.
A time of Visitation will be held on Spencer's birthday, Tuesday, December 3 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Faith Wesleyan Church, 1033 Tucker St., Williamsport.
Funeral services will also begin on Tuesday, December 3 at 12 p.m. from the Faith Wesleyan Church, Williamsport with Pastors Timothy K. Hartzell and Thomas J. Carney, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in the Greenlawn Memorial Park, Montgomery. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth St., Bloomsburg is honored to be assisting the Horning and Speicher family.
