Shirley D. Morris, age 93, of Bloomsburg, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2024, a resident of Glen Brook Rehabilitation and Health Center, Berwick. Shirley was a lifelong resident of Bloomsburg.
Shirley was born on Thursday, February 19, 1931 in Bloomsburg, a daughter of the late Clifford and Josephine (Shearer) Faux. She attended the Bloomsburg area schools. On September 8, 1978, Shirley married her loving husband, G. Fred Morris Sr., who preceded her in death in 2023. She had several jobs including at Capitol Theater as an usher, R & G Silk Mill, Magee Carpet and Bloomsburg Mills until her retirement in 1996. She had many loves in her life. Her love of horses started when she was a child, she loved telling stories of staying at her grandma's farm and riding the big work horses. Although she loved country music, Elvis was her favorite. She and Fred visited Graceland twice. She loved the Phillies, Betty Boop and the Bloomsburg Fair. But best of all were family gatherings or picnics. She was a quiet woman and loved by all that met her.
In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley was also preceded in death by a sister, Annabelle Faux.
Survivors include her three beloved children: Larry R. Boyer and wife, Barb of Milton, Gary Boyer and wife Wendy of Bloomsburg, Linda M. Stasko and husband Joe of Hazle Twp.; three stepsons: Fred Morris, Jr. and wife Jeanette of FL, Joe Morris and wife Tammy of Berwick, Ron Morris and wife Kelly of Berwick; 20 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren, and a brother, Robert Faux and wife Barb of Denver, CO.
Private Graveside committal services will be held at the convenience of the family at Creveling Cemetery with Pastor Robert Hess, LCBC, officiating. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Morris family.
