Shirley M. Kimsal, age 87, of Bloomsburg, died on Saturday, October 5, 2024, a resident of the Brookdale Assisted Living, Bloomsburg. She was a resident of her home in Bloomsburg for over 40 years.
Shirley was born on Sunday, December 20, 1936, in Danville, a daughter of the late Clayton H and Hazel E (Applegate) Dent. She graduated from Bloomsburg High School in 1955. On October 7, 1961, Shirley married her loving husband, Robert J. Kimsal. For over many years, she was employed by Forever Green, Lightstreet as a salesperson until her retirement. Shirley always enjoyed family time. She was known for having a decorating knack and enjoyed fishing trips to Canada.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was also preceded by three siblings: Gloria Haley, Norma Dent and Arthur Dent.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 63 years: Robert J. Kimsal of Bloomsburg; three children: Anita Hubler and husband Guy of Bloomsburg, Jacquelyn Haeckler and boyfriend Stephen Gori of Danville and Vincent Kimsal and wife Kelly of White Haven; five grandchildren: Amanda Prueitt and husband Ben of Royersford, Elizabeth Haeckler of Pittsburgh, Clayton Kimsal of Atlanta, GA, Edwin Kimsal of White Haven, Olivia Hubler of Bloomsburg; a great granddaughter: Ayla Prueitt, and a brother, Franklin Dent and wife Dawn of Catawissa.
A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg.
Funeral Services will begin on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at 11:00 am at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. in with Rev. Michael Spagnuolo, Catawissa Christian Church, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in the New Rosemont Cemetery, Bloomsburg. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Kimsal family.
