Shirley A. Finsel, age 82, an eight year resident of the Bloomsburg area, died on Saturday, November 2, 2013 in the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. She had been in failing health for a brief time. Shirley was born on Monday, December 1, 1930 in Johnson City, NY, a daughter of the late Jess and Hazel Ellis Decker.
Shirley was last employed in the Quality Control Department of Frito Lay of Kirkwood, NY. She retired in 1983 after nine years of service.
In addition to spending time with her family, Shirley especially enjoyed Bowling, Crocheting and Needlepoint crafts.
Survivors include four children: Debra Forbes and husband, Leander of New Bern NC; Timothy Finsel and wife, Kathy, of Bloomsburg, Wilma Vicks and husband, Michael, of Johnson City NY and Lorie Micha of Chenango Bridge NY; 7 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was the last member of her immediate family.
Funeral services will be private, at the convenience of the family. Shirley will be interred in Vestal Hills Cemetery, Vestal NY.
