Obituary

Sherry Mae Cassel, age 65, of 160 West 8th St., Bloomsburg, died Friday Feb 6 in The Bloomsburg Hospital where she had been admitted earlier in the day.
Sherry was born May 4, 1943 in Bloomsburg a daughter of the late Robert L. and Dorothy Mensch Corsnitz. Sherry was also the step-daughter of the late Fay A. Corsnitz. She attended the Bloomsburg Elementary Schools and later moved with her parents to the Harrisburg area. Her early working career was as a waitress and most recently she was employed by Hope Enterprises as a home health provider to the handicapped. Sherry enjoyed reading and playing bingo. In addition to her parents and step-mother, Sherry was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Cassel in June 2003. Survivors include five children: Robin Hinkelman and husband, Gary, of Palmyra, Tina True and husband, George, of Harrisburg, John Latin and wife, Theresa, of Bloomsburg, Dr. Robert Latin and companion, Beth Telford, of Fairfax, VA and Lisa Peterson and husband, Scott, of Harrisburg; seven grandchildren: John Latin IV, Patricia Latin, Brandon True, Morgan True, Chelsea Starr, Tristan Starr and Aiden Peterson; siblings: Joyce Myers and husband, Kenneth, of Harrisburg and Robert Corsnitz and wife, Terry, of Sinking Spring. She is also survived by two step-brothers and three step-sisters. Friends will be received at the Allen Funeral Home, 745 Market at Eighth St. on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 1 to 2 p.m. followed by funeral services with Rev. Francis J. Tamburo, St. Mary's Catholic Church of Berwick and Chaplain of Bloomsburg State Police Barracks, officiating. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Heart Association.
