Shawn Grisom, age 58, of Pottsville, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2024, a patient of Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. Shawn was a resident of his home in Pottsville for over 8 years.

He was born on Friday, May 7, 1965 in Brooklyn, NY a son of the late Earl and Vickie (Wallace) Grisom. He earned his GED in New York City. He expanded his education by attending Bloomsburg University and graduated cum laude with a bachelor's degree in social work. On October 20, 2017, he married his loving wife the former Lindsey Allen. For many years, he was employed by Danville State Hospital as a Social Worker until his retirement.

He was a member of Narcotics Anonymous for 29 years and an avid donor to the ASPCA. Shawn enjoyed spending his time swimming, diving, being outdoors, attending amusement parks, walking his dog, Pete, being a world traveler, a talker, drinking coffee and above all a family man.

Survivors include his beloved wife: Lindsey Grisom of Pottsville, four children: Michelle Grisom Rodriguez and husband Josias of NYC, James G. Grisom of Berwick, Alexis D. Grisom of Berwick, Nathan S. Grisom of Nescopeck, four grandchildren Clarissa, Josias, Angelina, Joshua, three siblings: Tina Diaz of New Rochelle, NY, Garnett Grisom of Brooklyn, and Kelly Grisom of Harrisburg.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc.745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Grisom family.
