Sharon Kay (Richart) Long, 81, of Bloomsburg, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday May 15, 2026. She was born in Bloomsburg on January 28, 1945 to the late John and Gertrude (Runyan) Richart.
Sharon attended Central Columbia schools, later becoming a dedicated homemaker. She also spent several years as a home health aide. Her warmth, kindness, and compassion were evident to anyone close to Sharon. She enjoyed line dancing, sewing and crafts, and would visit the Bloomsburg Fair every year. Sharon had a passion for cooking and baking, and spending time with her family. Christmas was especially dear to Sharon, and she treasured the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Sharon is survived by her daughter, Nicole Long of Cumberland, MD; her beloved grandchildren, Bailey Long, Savana McCabe, Miranda McCabe, Samantha Richart, Christine Miller, Amanda Richart, Shannon Rudy and her husband, Scott, Colton Richart and his wife, Marcella, Madyson Young, and Connor Young; her seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Shirley Foust of Fort Myers, FL and Patricia Hopper of Phoenixville.
In addition to her parents, Sharon is preceded in death by her son, John Charles Richart; her daughter, Wendy Richart; and nine siblings.
A private celebration of Sharon’s life will be held at the convenience of the family. The Allen Funeral Home, 745 Market St. Bloomsburg, is honored to be serving Sharon’s family.
