Sharon J. Kolenda , age 48, of Bloomsburg, passed away on Friday, February 9, 2018, at home surrounded by her loving family. Sharon was a resident of Bloomsburg most of her life.
Sharon was born on Thursday, May 8, 1969 in Elmira, NY a daughter of Janice D. (Berghuis) Harding of Bloomsburg and the late Rev. Harold L. Harding. She graduated from the Bloomsburg Christian School in 1987. Sharon expanded her education by attending Southeastern University, Lakeland, FL, and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education in 1991.
On August 13, 1994, Sharon married her loving husband, Pastor John D. Kolenda, Sr.
She was a member of the Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church, was the Director of GTAG Homeschool Co Op, and was the Childrens Pastor at Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church. Sharon loved spending her time with family and friends, she was devoted to homeschooling, church ministry and had a true heart for all people.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 23 years, Pastor John D. Kolenda, Sr.; mother, Janice D. Harding of Bloomsburg; five children, Bethany J. Kolenda, John D. Kolenda, Jr., Timothy J. Kolenda, Rebekah J. Kolenda and Leah J. Kolenda all at home; two brothers, Randall L. Harding and wife Christine of Albany, NY; Kevin W. Harding and wife Vickie of Nescopeck.
A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday February 14, 2018, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Streets, Bloomsburg. Friends and family will also be received on Thursday February 15, 2018, from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm at Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church.
Funeral Services will begin on Thursday February 15, 2018, at 1:00 pm at Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church, 706 Central Road, Bloomsburg. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Kolenda family.
