Obituary

Sarah E. "Sally" Amick, affectionately known as "Nana" age 89, of Bloomsburg, went home to be with Jesus on Monday, November 11, 2024. Sally was a resident of Mt. Pleasant Twp. for over 60 years.

She was born on Wednesday, January 23, 1935 in Milesburg, a daughter of the late Charles and Carrie (Young) Keith. She graduated from the Bellefonte High School in 1954. On March 11, 1955, Sally married her loving husband, Robert Manning Amick, Sr. who preceded her in death on August 24, 2021. After getting married she became a homemaker. Sally was a member of the Open Door Christian Fellowship, Bloomsburg. She enjoyed spending her time reading the Bible, playing Yahtzee and Scrabble, raising her six children and watching her 38 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren grow. Collecting cardinals in any shape and form.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her three children: Michael Alan Amick, Teresa Lynn Frey and Robert Wayne Amick, a grandson: Cody Manning Amick, three great-grandchildren: Amber Skye Amick, Charles Luke Amick and Piper Lynn Lukonen and her 13 siblings.

Survivors include her four beloved children; Roberta Birt and husband John of Bloomsburg, Robert Amick, Jr. and wife Mary of Bloomsburg, Deborah Hartman and husband John of Orangeville, Naomi Kontz and husband Joseph of Warminster, a daughter-in-law, Joyce Amick of Mifflinville, a son-in-law, Dean Frey of Bloomsburg; her sister, Esther Homan of Potters Mills; sister-in-law, Betty Motter of Lock Haven, 37 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren. As well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, November 29, 2024 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Columbia County Christian School, 123 Schoolhouse Road, Bloomsburg.

Funeral Services will begin on Friday, November 29, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Columbia County Christian School with Pastor Peter Albrecht, Open Door Christian Fellowship and her son-in-law Joseph Kontz, Jr., officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow at the Canby Cemetery, Bloomsburg. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Amick family.
