Sandra E. "Sandy" Sponenberg, age 75, of Bloomsburg, passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2023, a patient of the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

She was born on Monday, June 16, 1947 in Strawberry Ridge, a daughter of the late Wilbur C. and Helen M. (Fausey) Sponenberg. For many years, Sandy was employed by Briar Knitting, Berwick most of her working life. She loved playing bingo at multiple places, and spending time with her family. Sandy enjoyed crocheting and knitting blankets and other assorted items.

In addition to her parents, Sandy was also preceded in death by two brothers, Wilbur C. Sponenberg, Jr., Robert E. Sponenberg, a sister, Janet Hess, a sister-in-law; Margaret Sponenberg, a brother-in-law; Jerry Collins and a brother-in-law, Kenneth Ackerman.

Survivors include her two beloved sons; Jeffrey A. Sponenberg of Bloomsburg, Mark D. Sponenberg and his wife Vikki of Bloomsburg, a granddaughter; Teresa B. Madden and her husband Jimmy of Clifton Heights, PA, a grandson; Howard W. Sponenberg of Bloomsburg, three sisters; Mary Lou Musselman and her husband Bernard of Shickshinny, Shirley Collins of Bloomsburg, Rose Marie Ackerman of Pittsboro, NC, a brother-in-law; Leroy Hess of Nescopeck, and a sister-in-law; Francie Sponenberg of Bloomsburg, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family with Rev. Michael Spagnuolo, officiating. Private burial will be held in Elan Memorial Park, Bloomsburg. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Sponenberg family.
