Ruth H. Simmons, age 89, a 64 year resident of Main Township, died on Friday, June 1, 2018, in Loveland, Colorado.
Ruth was born on Monday, August 6, 1928 in Martinsburg, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late John and Mary (Hoover) Ebersol. Most of her life Ruth was a farm wife, helping her husband with their Main Township farm and a mother raising two sons. Ruth was last employed as a Lab Technician by Starkist and Campbell Foods in Lime Ridge until she retired.
On July 6, 1949, Ruth married her loving spouse, Norman J. Simmons. After 64 years of marriage, Norman died on May 26, 2013.
In addition to her husband and parents, Ruth was also preceded by a brother, David Ebersol.
Survivors include two sons: Douglas J. Simmons of Milliken, CO and Dwight N. Simmons and wife, Janet, of Harrisburg and two sisters: Nancy Allison of Roaring Spring, PA, and Jennie Curfman of Roaring Spring, PA.
Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 11 a.m. in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge with Rev. William R. Hallman, officiating. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Simmons family.
