Rose M. Sikorski, age 97, formerly of Wonderview, Bloomsburg, died Monday, January 16, 2012 a resident since March of Emmanuel Nursing Center in Danville.
Rose was born on Saturday, April 25, 1914 in Manhattan, New York, a daughter of the late Charles and Rose (Verdi) Lopresti. Throughout most of her working career, she was employed by WT Grant Department Stores as a Supervisor and Department Manager. She was a member of the St. Columba Catholic Parish in Bloomsburg. In February of 2000, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Stanley Sikorski, a Veteran in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include a daughter: Agnes Lloyd of Bloomsburg; a son: Robert Sikorski and wife, Rosemary, of Pompano Beach, FL; four grandchildren: Lisa Lloyd, Brian Lloyd, Robert Lloyd and Paula Sikorski; and eight great-grandchildren: Samuel, Joshua, Matthew, James, Lyndsey, Harper, Chloe, and Laney. She was preceded in death by several siblings and was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Due to sudden unforeseen circumstances, Funeral services will not be held in the Chapel of the Emmanuel Nursing Center in Danville on Friday. Funeral services will now be held on Friday, February 3 at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Maria Joseph Manor, 875 Montour Boulevard, Danville, with Rev. Dominic Azagbor, officiating.
A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held from 12 noon until the time of service. Arrangements are under the direction and care of the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 745 Market at Eighth Street in Bloomsburg.
