Rose (Weaver) Ritter, 81, of Lightstreet, passed away March 20, 2026, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. Born in Cleveland, OH on March 27, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Stanley Clyde and Doris Marie (Cate) Weaver.
Rose was a graduate of Danville High School, Class of 1962. In 1964, she wed the love of her life, Mr. Robert L. Ritter, with whom she would share 32 years of marriage. Rose was a longtime employee of Geisinger Medical Center, and later, the Berwick Area School District, from which she retired. She had served as a Girl Scout Leader and loved camping. She had a life-long love of horses and had been a trail boss at Circle G Stables. She also enjoyed Bingo and day trips to the casino, as well as taking in football games and true crime shows. Rose’s feisty spirit, and her ability to convey her displeasure with a simple look, will be fondly remembered by her family, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Surviving Rose are her beloved daughter, Jeannette M. Ritter, of Lightstreet, whom she adopted at five years old; siblings: William Weaver of Nicaragua and Victoria Grace Jones and husband, Henry, of Mifflinville.
In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert L. Ritter, who passed away September 22, 1996, and siblings: Jeannette Brown and Elizabeth Ann Keim.
A time of visitation for family and friends will be held 4-6 PM Monday, March 30, 2026 at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market Street, Bloomsburg. Her interment at Columbia Hill Cemetery will be private. Memorial contributions in Rose’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741 or to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N Michigan Ave. Floor 17 Chicago, IL 60601. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc. is honored to serve the Ritter family.
