Ronald Roy "Ronnie" Beaver, age 68, of 485 Zehner Street, Bloomsburg, died Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at his residence. Ronnie had resided on Zehner St. for the past five years, prior to that he resided at 476 W. First St. for thirty years.
Ronnie was born June 26, 1941 in Bloomsburg, a son of the late Roy W. and Ella V. (Walter) Beaver. He was a 1959 graduate of Bloomsburg High School. He was a member of the U.S. Army Reserve. Most recently he had been employed at Bloomsburg Carpet, prior to that he was employed at the former Magee Carpet Company from 1954 until 1974.
Ronnie was an avid New York Yankee and Penn State Fan, enjoyed antiques and classic cars. In his younger days he enjoyed hunting, fishing and motorcycles. His greatest joy was spending time with his three grandchildren and his family.
Survivors include his wife of thirty-four years, Mary Ann (Swisher) Beaver, who he married April 19, 1974; three sons: twins, Kyle and Kerry, Fredricksburg, VA and Christopher and his wife, Tarrah, Bloomsburg; three grandchildren: Trentin, Tie and Sadie Paige Beaver; a brother: Wayne Beaver and his wife, Ann, Bloomsburg and four nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother: Kevin, February 11, 1989.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 19 at 11 A.M. at the Allen Funeral Home, 745 Market St. at Eighth, Bloomsburg, with Pastor Chuck Chamberlain, Bloomsburg Southern Baptist Church, officiating. Friends will be received from 10 A.M. until time of service. Burial will be in St. Paul's (Straub's) Lutheran Church Cemetery.
