Romona A. Mayes, age 61, of Millertown Road, Bloomsburg, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at her residence. She resided at her home in Mount Pleasant Township for the past 12 years.
Romona was born Wednesday, October 6, 1948 in Brigham City, Utah, a daughter of the late Roy and Ruth Peeples Bragger.
She was a member of the New Birth Ministries in Lightstreet. She had a love and passion of making crafts and sewing. She was a devoted wife and homemaker to her beloved family.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jeri Ann Philyaw in November of 2005.
Surviving is her beloved husband of 19 years, James A. Mayes, having been married on November 28, 1991; a daughter: Cynthia Lee Nardi of Long Beach, California; several grandchildren; and a sister: Debbie Marshall and her husband, Ted, of Louisburg, North Carolina.
Friends will be received on Saturday, October 9, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the New Birth Ministries, 1700 Main Street in Lightstreet.
Funeral services will begin on Saturday at the church at 11 a.m. with her pastors, Reverends John P. & Laura Casterline, officiating. The Mayes family is being assisted by the Allen Funeral Home of 745 Market at Eighth Street in Bloomsburg.
