Robert J. "Stacky" Stackhouse, Jr., age 78, of Bloomsburg, passed away on Saturday evening, February 15, 2025, a patient of the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Robert was a lifelong resident of Bloomsburg.
Bob was born on Friday, October 4, 1946 in Bloomsburg, a son of the late Robert J. and Martha L. (Davenport) Stackhouse. He graduated from the Bloomsburg High School in 1964. On June 10, 1972, Bob married his loving wife, the former Dayle L. Smith who preceded him in death on June 25, 2008. For over 40 years, Bob was employed by Dillon Floral Corporation as a laborer until his retirement in 2022. A couple of jobs he had previously worked were security at Bloomsburg Hospital for 10 years and the Bloomsburg Fair for 50 years. He was a member of the Bloomsburg Fire Department for over 55 years and the Six County Firemen's Association.
He volunteered with the Bloomsburg Salvation Army Service Center, was the town Santa with The Bloomsburg Fire Department, with Kmart, Weis, and many local events. Bob enjoyed spending his time watching baseball, especially his favorite team, the Philadelphia Phillies, watching racing especially the Indianapolis 500, and Daytona 500. He loved going to the Selinsgrove Speedway and the Bloomsburg Fair. He received many awards and achievements at Dillons Floral and with firefighting.
In addition to his parents and wife, Bob was also preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Rose Rhodomoyer.
Survivors include his two beloved children: Brian R. Stackhouse, Rebecca A. Neyhard and husband Tom; two grandchildren: Emily R. Neyhard and Ryan T. Neyhard all of Bloomsburg, as well as several nieces and nephews.
A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, February 23, 2025 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg.
Funeral Services will begin on Monday, February 24, 2025 at 10:00 am at the Bloomsburg Fire Department, 911 Market St., Bloomsburg with Chaplain David Adams, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in the New Rosemont Cemetery, Bloomsburg. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc. is honored to be serving the Stackhouse and Neyhard families.
