Robert H. Kase, age 79, of 26 Susie's Lane Danville, died Monday, November 16, 2009 at his home. He had been in failing health since February. Mr. Kase was a resident of his Hemlock Twp. home since 1956. A son of the late Robert and Martha (Flick) Kase, he was born in Danville on Wednesday, February 19, 1930.Mr. Kase was a 1948 graduate of the Danville High School. He served in the United States Army from 1948 to 1951. During that time he was stationed in Korea as a locomotive engineer. Most of his working life Robert was a Truck Driver and Heavy Equipment Operator. He was last employed by Wise Potato Chip Company and had previously been employed by Cooper Jarrett Trucking Company He was a member of the International union of Operating Engineers Local #542, a life member of the American Legion Post 40 and VFW Post 298 both of Danville, Washington Lodge #265 F&AM and the Caldwell Consistory both of Bloomsburg and a member of the Irem Temple Shrine of Wilkes Barre. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Maxine (Shultz) Kase; a daughter Betty Winters of Danville; two sons: Robert D. Kase and wife, Amy, of Danville and Jerry Kase of Danville; four grandchildren: Penny Chorba, Ronda Winters, Rebecca Kase and Michael Kase; two great grandchildren: Jerrika Chorba and Logan Chorba; two siblings: Nancy Hendrickson and husband, Russel, of Danville and William Kase and wife, Mary of Millville. He was preceded in death by a sister: Marian Hendrickson.Friends will be received Friday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Allen Funeral Home, 745 Market at Eighth St., Bloomsburg. Services will follow at 11 a.m. with his daughter-in-law, Amy Kase, officiating. He will be buried with military honors in St. Paul's Lutheran (Straub's) Cemetery.
