Robert Bilton “Bob” Carey, Jr., 63, of Benton, passed away peacefully at his home Monday, May 18, 2026. Born in Bloomsburg on December 19, 1962, he was a son to the late Robert B. and Joan O. (Edwards) Carey, Sr.

Bob attended Jerseytown Area Schools before moving to Bloomsburg. He had been a longtime employee of Great Dane Trailer. He enjoyed working on cars, riding his Harley, and watching NASCAR. Cooking and canning were also passions of Bob’s. He loved traveling and had taken several over-seas trips. He had an inquisitive nature that manifested itself in his interest in learning about religions of all types. Bob loved animals and had a soft spot for rescue dogs. His greatest joys, however, were his family and the times spent with them, especially while on their many camping adventures.

Surviving Bob are his children: Shannon L. Carey and fiancé, Sean Sutherland, of Macungie, Blake L. Carey of Mount Bethel, and Jillian L. Carey of Benton; sisters: Rose Long of Bloomsburg and LouAnn Deihl of NY; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is also remembered fondly by his former wife, Debra L. Terra Carey, with whom he shared many meaningful years and a lasting friendship.

In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by a son, Robert L. Carey, who passed away in 2008.

All are welcome to join Bob’s family for his graveside Memorial Service 11 AM May 27, 2026 at Dutch Hill Cemetery. Rev. Michael Spagnuolo of Catawissa Christian Church will officiate. The Allen Funeral Home, 745 Market St. Bloomsburg, is honored to be serving the Carey family.
