Obituary

Robert E. "Bob" Lynn, age 67, of Bloomsburg (Wonderview), passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 due to a medical emergency in the comfort of his wife Linda Lynn and close friends Linda and Dennis Frazier. He was born on Thursday, July 5, 1956 in Danville, a son of the late James R. and Joann A. (Dennen) Lynn.

Bob was a devout husband, father, grandfather, and member of St. Columba Catholic Church. His interests were wide and diverse with a love of history and antiques, as well as cycling, hunting, and fishing. He cherished spending active time with his family and friends, especially attending antique shows and Penn State football and basketball games with his wife. He was a passionate and frequent spectator of Bloomsburg University sports and also found great joy in cheering for the Cowboys and Raiders, while rooting against the Steelers. Bob was a leader in organizing tennis and pickleball matches at the Bloomsburg Town Park and local YMCAs (Bloomsburg and Berwick).

As an avid cyclist, in his lifetime, Bob proudly accumulated 105,698 miles on his bikes, which were thoroughly documented after each ride since 1982. In the winter, Bob and his wife spent time cross country skiing together. As an Eagle Scout and result of his frequent outdoor active time, he also developed a passion and skill for weather tracking. Bob belonged to the Fishing Creek Watershed Association and regularly attended historical society meetings with the History Buffs group. He was also a member of The Bloomsburg University Alumni Association and a lifetime Elks member. He worked for 35 years at PP&L Susquehanna as a Sourcing Specialist. He enjoyed meeting with his fellow PP&L retirees for a monthly lunch.

In addition to his parents, Bob was also preceded in death by a sister, Christine M. Donmoyer in 2015.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 44 years, Linda Ann Lynn, a son, Keith Robert Lynn and wife Amanda of West Chester, PA; a daughter, Kirsten Marie Mease and husband Adam of Cary, NC; three grandchildren, Noelle Mease, Maddox Mease, and Colette Mease all of Cary, NC; a sister, Kathy Kovach and husband Jerry of Duncansville, PA., as well as two nieces and two nephews.

A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, September 29, 2023 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at St. Columba Catholic Church, 342 Iron St., Bloomsburg

A Mass of Christian Burial will begin on Friday, September 29, 2023 at 11:00 am at St. Columba Catholic Church with Rev. Richard J. Mowery, celebrant. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Danville. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Lynn family.
