Obituary
Robert L. "Bob" Fijal, age 75, of Bloomsburg, passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2024, a patient of the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Robert was a resident of his home in Main Twp. for over 49 years.
Bob was born on Sunday, July 24, 1949, in New York City, a son of the late Louis and Anna (Chabala) Fijal. He graduated from the Mount Carmel Area High School in 1967. On October 3, 1967, he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he faithfully served until, he was honorably discharged on November 5, 1971, with the rank of Sergeant.
On September 20, 1975, Bob married his loving wife, the former Kat A. Johnson. For over 27 years, he was employed by Selinsgrove Center as a personal care aide until his retirement. Bob was a member of the American Legion Post 273, Bloomsburg and Mainville Sportsman's Club. He enjoyed spending his time surf fishing, hunting, shopping for antiques, and airplanes.
In addition to his parents, Bob was also preceded in death by his infant brother.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 49 years, Kat A. Fijal of Bloomsburg; two children: Matthew Fijal and wife, Megan, of Berwick, and Kasey Fijal of Bloomsburg, also a granddaughter, Maggie J. Fijal of Berwick.
Private Funeral Services will be at the convenience of the family. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 745 Market at Eighth St, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Fijal family.
