Robert S. "Bob" Babb Jr., age 58, of Catawissa, passed away Monday, July 3, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving family where he lived for three years.
Bob was born on Monday, February 22, 1965 in Berwick, a son of Sharon (Force) Babb Young, wife of Joe Young, Sr of Benton and the late Robert S. Babb, Sr. who preceded him in 2022. He graduated from Southern Columbia High School in 1983. Following graduation, he faithfully served in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged in 1985.
On May 5, 2017, Bob married his loving wife, the former Virginia Gingrich. He was employed by Mark Boyle, LLC. as a welder until his retirement in January, 2023. He was a member of the NRA and the Welder's Union. He enjoyed spending his time reading especially history, singing and loved welding. He will be remembered for his fun-loving personality and his joy of life. Bob was blessed with many talents. He was a skilled carpenter and "master" welder. His gift of a great singing voice was a gift to all who experienced his role as a karaoke host at the Good Old Days. He was definitely a charismatic host and he thoroughly enjoyed entertaining everyone.
In addition to his mother and wife, survivors include two sons: Marcus Babb of Shamokin and Charles Babb of Catawissa; eleven grandchildren; a sister, Robin Phillips and husband, Alan, of Berwick, two stepdaughters: Tasha LittleWalker and husband, Al, of Catawissa, Janie Morgan of St. Clair and stepson Riley Scull of Millville.
Bob often said he appreciated Joe Young, his stepfather for all he did for him. Tasha and Al LittleWalker were a true blessing in helping care for him.
A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, July 10, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg.
Funeral Services will follow with Rev. Michael Spagnuolo, officiating. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Babb family. Military honors will be begin at 5:45 by the combined American Legion and VFW Honor Guard.
