Richard O. Stauffer, age 55, of 6980 Hillside Drive, Bloomsburg, died Saturday, June 11 , 2009 at the Bloomsburg Hospital. Born on January 13, 1954 in Bloomsburg he was the son of the late Eleanor (Nuefer) Stauffer. He attended the Bloomsburg schools.Mr. Stauffer had been employed by the former Bloomsburg Mills for 25 years as a machine operator and later assistant foreman until his health no longer permitted. He enjoyed baseball, football and tennis and earlier in life fishing. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his sister, Elaine Whalen.Surviving is his wife, the former Kathy Mensch, with whom he celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary on June 8, 2009; a daughter, Janelle Shultz and her husband Matthew, Catawissa; a son, Cory Stauffer, at home; grandchildren Landon, Jordan and Kaiden Shultz; a sister, Beth Braun and her husband Mike, Cheney, Washington; and several nieces and nephews.Services are incomplete at this time and will be announced at a later date.
