Richard Onisick, age 51, of Bloomsburg, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 17, 2022, at his South Centre Twp. home where he lived for the past 14 years.
He was born on Monday, October 12, 1970, in Bloomsburg, a son of Robert M. Onisick of Catawissa and the late Pamela A. (Wentworth) Onisick. Rick graduated from the Bloomsburg High School in 1988. He faithfully served his country in the United States Navy from June 1988 until he was honorably discharged in June 1992. On June 28, 1989, Rick married his loving wife, the former Paula J. Deiterich. He was self-employed making and selling religious merchandise. Rick loved being a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather and friend. He enjoyed vacationing at Beaufort, SC with his wife. He was a Spiritual Advisor and Mentor to his family, friends and strangers. But most importantly he was a Jedi.
In addition to his mother, Richard was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert M. Onisick, Jr.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 32 years, Paula J. Onisick, his father, Robert M. Onisick, Sr. of Catawissa, three sons, Paul D. Boehmer and spouse Phil of Lewisburg, Peter A. Onisick and spouse Emily of Berwick, Parker B. Onisick of Bloomsburg, five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, his in-laws, Larry and Josephine Deiterich of Bloomsburg and his pet cat Meow Meow.
A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Streets, Bloomsburg.
Funeral services will begin on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at 10:00 am at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. with Rev. Susan Rogutski, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in Elan Memorial Park, Bloomsburg with military honors provided by the combined VFW and American Legion Honor Guard. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Onisick family.
