Obituary

Richard C. Hoch II, age 64, of Bloomsburg, passed from this life on Monday, January 22, 2018 at Geisinger Medical Center, after a lengthy illness. Richard was a resident of his home in Bloomsburg for over 8 years.
Richard was born on Thursday, February 5, 1953 in Allentown, a son of Louise (Derby) Hoch and the late late Richard C. Hoch, Sr. Throughout his younger years, Richard grew up in Whitehall, PA and later graduated from the Whitehall High School in 1971, where he excelled in both football and wrestling. Richard expanded his education by attending Mansfield University and Northhampton Community College of Culinary Arts, and graduated with a Associate Degree. He held several jobs including 29 years at GAF/Tarkett, Woods Dining Service at Muhlenberg College and Department Administrator at Cabella's, Hamburg, PA. On August 1, 2009, Richard married his loving wife, Debra J. (Dreese) Hoch. Richard was an avid hunter, a lifetime member of the Fullerton Fire Company, a member of the Single Action Shooting Society and a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 8 years, Debra J. Hoch of Bloomsburg; son, Ryan Lee Hoch of Philadelphia; mother, Louise Hoch of Whitehall; and five sisters, Debbie wife of Tom Hennessy of Clemson, SC, Tami wife of Jimmy Jones of Allentown; Dona Hoch of Phoenix, AZ; Paula wife of Tom McMahon of Phoenix, AZ; Louise wife of Tom Sullivan of Amarillo, TX; also survived by multiple nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. in Bloomsburg. Friends and family will also be received on Thursday, January 25, 2018 from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm.
Funeral Services will begin on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at 1:00 pm at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 745 Market at Eighth Streets, Bloomsburg with Pastor Chuck Chamberlain, officiating. Graveside committal services will be held at the convenience of the family at Mt. Rock Cemetery, Lewistown. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Hoch family.
