Richard L. Drumm, age 76, of Lightstreet, passed away on Thursday afternoon, October 16, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family and under the care of Columbia Montour Home Hospice.
Richard was born on Monday, May 30, 1938 in Bloomsburg, a son of the late Paul H. and Hilda (Lee) Drumm. Throughout his younger years, Richard attended the former Scott School and later graduated in 1956. Immediately following his education, Richard enlisted in the United States Army where he served his country faithfully while stationed in San Francisco, California. For over 34 years, Richard was employed by PPL as a Lineman until his retirement in 1994. Following his retirement, Richard spent five years driving for K-Cab in Bloomsburg. Having a love for the outdoors with a passion for hunting and fishing, Richard was a life-long member of the Orangeville Sportsman's Club. He also enjoyed countless camping excursions with his family and friends. Throughout his later years, he was an avid fan of NASCAR. He enjoyed people and was best known for his 'You're home when you're here' approach to accommodating everyone.
In addition to his parents, Richard was also preceded in death by his step-mother: Jean Drumm and step-father: Allen Kitchen, all formerly of the Lightstreet area.
Surviving is his beloved wife of 57 years, Kathryn (Hock) Drumm; a daughter: Angela Drumm and partner, Liz Masich, of Bloomsburg; a son: Steven Drumm and wife, Patricia, of Lightstreet; two grandchildren: Dakota and Cheyenne Drumm of Lightstreet; and numerous nephews and nieces.
To honor his wishes, there will be no public Visitation for Funeral Service. The Drumm family will hold a private memorial ceremony at their convenience. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Drumm family.
