Obituary

Richard D. "Dickie" Lamoreaux, age 80, of Bloomsburg, passed away on Sunday morning, July 23, 2023, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

He was born on Monday, August 17, 1942 in Berwick, a son of the late Clyde Austin Lamoreaux and Gertrude Margaret Harvey. Richard graduated from Central Columbia High School in 1962. He faithfully served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1968. For over 40 years, Richard was employed by Mariano Construction, Inc., Bloomsburg. He was a member of the Bloomsburg American Legion, the Bloomsburg Moose Lodge, and the Bloomsburg Elks Lodge. Richard enjoyed spending his time visiting with friends and fellow veterans. During his retirement years, Richard enjoyed helping friends in need.

Survivors include a son; Shane C. Lamoreaux, a grandson; Skyler Lamoreaux, as well as his two friends; Leanne Austin of Bloomsburg and Martin Mariano of Bloomsburg. He had seven sisters: Pauline J. Slusser, Betty J. Lussow, Doris E. Law, Marjorie Middleton, Nancy Kyttle, Sharon Fisher, and Wilma Garcia.

Graveside Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 28, 2023 at 2:00 pm in Elan Memorial Park with Rev. Greg Moore, officiating. Military honors will be provided by the combined American Legion and V.F.W. Honor Guard. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Lamoreaux family.
