Richard F. "Dick" Martz, Sr., age 86, of Bloomsburg, passed away peacefully at his home in Main Twp. on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.

Dick was born on Saturday, October 16, 1937 in Espy, a son of the late Earl Eugene and Zelda Virginia (Hummel) Martz. He graduated from Scott High School, Espy, Class of 1956. He played baseball, basketball and soccer. He was inducted into the 1956 Soccer Hall of Fame.

He married his wife and best friend Carol C. (Geiger) Martz on March 6, 1959 while she was attending Bloomsburg State Teachers College. Dick worked for his dad and mom (Martz Florist), Clem Clarke Eggs and Bloomsburg Mills as a truck driver.

In addition to his parents, Dick was also preceded in death by a daughter, Tracy L. Bickert on July 18, 2010, two brothers, Douglas Martz, Robert Martz, and three sisters, Marion Baldwin, Leona Levan, Connie Cropf.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 65 years; Carol C. Martz, two sons; Richard F. Martz, Jr. and wife Eva of MT, Raymond E. Martz of Cortland, NY, a daughter; Tammy L. Crawford and husband Brian of Bloomsburg, nine grandchildren; Jessica Rametta and husband Tim, Janice Horn and husband Joey, Monica Martz, Mariah Esposito and husband Shaun, Jennifer Bartlette and husband Tom, Krystal Whitmire and husband Sean, Taylar Bolton and husband Adam, Zachary Martz, Haley Martz, six great-grandchildren; Carmine Esposito, Alex Rametta, Emilee Rametta, Karson Horn, Garrett Horn, Madison Bartlette, and a sister; Joyce Admire of Danville.

Private graveside services will be held in Creveling Cemetery, Almedia at the convenience of the family with Rev. Robert Barner, Compassus Hospice Clergy, officiating. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Martz family.
